1. Introduction-

AGTI's DACOE Central Library  collectively supports day to day  teaching and learning process as well as  research and extension programmers of the Institute. Cental Library has open access for all to over 17000 Printed Books, National & International Journals,Magazines,CD's, DVD's, NPTEL video lectures from IIT, Bound Volume of Journals, Project Reports, Newspapers and Database in Engineering & Technology, Humanities, Science and Social Sciences. Library continued to offer its services to all students, teachers and other users. T


2. Collection Development and Management-

Collection development is one of the important functions of the library that supports academic and research work of the students, faculty, staff and other users. Library collection comprising of books, journals, and other reading materials in science, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences is considered as one of the best in the region and is its greatest asset. The total collection of library as on 31st Mar 2014 stands as follows

A list of new additions of books is issued on all working days. Special care was taken to neatly maintain the library stacks to facilitate users to locate the desired document quickly. A book exhibition was also organized during October 2011 to facilitate students, faculty and staff to browse and select latest publications in their subjects.

3. Digital Library-

The Digital Library is a part of the institute-wide network and has adequate computing infrastructure to cater to the needs of the users. The Internet facility in the Digital Library continues to attract users to bring in their laptops to have seamless access to print and electronic resources. Our Digital Library offers Internet Facility, Online E-Journals Facility, NPTEL Facility, E-ZINE Facility and E-resources Facility.

5. Operational Features of Library-

  • Open access to all the members of library.
  • Any time book issue on all working days.
  • Book return period of books is 15 days.
  • At a time 3 books will be issued to all the members.
  • The books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System
  • Use of Library Management System
  • Library Orientation Program for the FE & DSE Student.
  •  

6. Library Working Hours-

Library Timing is 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.

During Examination 08.00 am to 12.00 mid.

 

7. Library Rules- 

  • Open Access to all the Members of Library.
  • At a time 3 Books will be issued to a Member.
  • Books must be returned in 15 days to the Library.
  • Ordinarily, the book(s) (in demand) will not be re-issued.
  • Readers shall not write upon, damage, or make any mark upon any book, data book, hand book or map belonging to the library.
  • Any reader observing a defect, or damage to any book shall point out the same to the Library Staff immediately.
  • Books issued to a Member (all Categories) will not be transferred in the name of any other members.
  • Reference books, reserved books, current issue of Magazines/Periodicals & Bound Volumes will not be issued to borrower. However they may be allowed to draw them for one night only.
  •  Overdue charges will be laid on borrowed books if returned after the due date.
  •  No personal belongings including books are allowed inside the library.
  •  Always keep Identity Cards with you, while making use of Reading hall as checks will be carried out by the library staff and Security personnel.
  •  Mobile phones need to be switched off or kept in the silent mode before making entry to the library/reading hall. Talking over mobile inside the library/reading hall is strictly prohibited.
  •  In case of loss of book, the student should report this to the librarian without any delay and is being required to replace the book or pay its price.
  •  Maintain silence in the library.
  •  If a Member leaves the Institute he/she shall have to return the entire library material and get Membership to obtain no dues slip from the Librarian.
  • If No Dues fails appropriate action will be taken.

9. Library Staff-

The library has a team of talented and dedicated staffs who perform their duties exceptionally well, and are always appreciated by our users for their intelligence, enthusiasm and honesty with which they serve them.
